Help matching my motor
Hey guys. Just need a bit of insight to get the last few parts of my engine to suit the rest. I'll list my car and stuff I have first and then the questions below. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Some might be the same old questions your always answering but I need to know specific to my setup. Thanks.
Car is 99% street driven, will be raced at one meeting a year so still need it to run good times. Will be a Sunday driver only so streetability is not so important. 3400lb with driver. 25 inch tyre with 3.5 rearend (26"/3.7 when raced), Th350 with 2500 stall. 355 chevy, 10.2 comp (0.005deck, 0.039 gasket) Voodoo Solid Flat/T Cam ( 266/276- 233/241 at 0.50 0.505/0.520 Lift with 1.5) Sportsman 2 heads, 1/2 port job on intake, more extensive work on exhaust side flowing high 240's at 0.500. I need to buy roller rockers, carburettor, ignition, possibly intake. I own a team g (its half 1/2 taller then the basic one), we all know RPM is better suited but what exactly will I gain/lose by using team g. gain 1/10th, lose 20% kick in pants feeling? I have to justify the worth of buying a new manifold, if its only going to be 5% faster feeling down low is not worth it in my opinion.
2nd question. I am looking at a basic msd streetfire hei dizzy. How much would I lose by running this over a full msd setup with ignition box etc. Will I be able to notice the difference?
3rd Question roller rockers: with the big different in lift on int/exh there is no point splitting the ratio? With my setup is it safe to run 1.6's or will this depend on intake? Is the cam's lift on the spec sheet including the valve last or do I take that off , if thats the case I will be running 1.6's but if its already including the last Id think about going 1.5 ration.
Lastly, I have a 3310 780 vac/sec , never let me down, am planning on using that. But is there any advantage using a 750dp/725demon that I am actually going to motor. I'm not worried about 1/10th second here or there, I just want it an all round motor that feels fast on street and capable of running a mid to high 12, so best to get the parts tp suit what I have. Thanks again.
