I am an expert, I've done one chop! OK, ha,ha. But in any event, there is a very good book available from named "How to Chop Tops", by Tex Smith. It is considered the Bible of the top chop art. I recommend you buy it.

There is a good article in the Feb 2003 issue of Rod & Custom magazine on the chop of a shoebox ford. All the principles apply to your car. Take a look.

The back glass and frame needs to be cut out and then reinserted in the chop. This is because the glass cannot be cut.

Don't start this project until you consider yourself proficient with a mig wire feed welder and you will need a sawzall, and air cut off tools and a nibbler is helpful.

I can tell you that it is a pretty complex job.
