thats sounds really shady. If your vehicle got stolen from his shop then his insurance needs to replace it. If he was operating w/o insurance than you have a legit lawsuit. Even if it was at his house, odds are his homeowner's policy would have to replace it.
How well do you know this "mechanic"? |

I smell a rat. If it was stolen he knows who stole it, bottom line.
The 880 is a great block and great to work off of. These came with Vortec heads on them and if it has them that`s all the better. They come with a factory windage tray also. These engines are a generation 1 small block chevy, the only difference between them and the older blocks is it has a 1 piece rear main seal, Vortec heads have a 8 bolt intake pattern instead of the classic 12 and it`s a roller cam engine. Other than that, everything is just about the same. They used a serpentine belt system that used a reverse rotation water pump. Some of these engines are drilled for a mechanical fuel pump and some aren`t. Last edited by DoubleVision; 11-29-2009 at 05:38 PM. |

stolen car.......
HI,did you make a police report? if not DO IT.Did you threaten to whip his A--??i would.how big of a city do you live in? get all your friends looking for the car...PUT an ad on CRAIGSLIST,offer a reward.........LET the mechanic pay the reward...do NOT register the Monte Carlo in your name. talk to the registered owner of the Monte Carlo,he Might be the guy with your car.. .go see a policeman, put in a stolen car report..RAISE HELL..try to find out who his homeowners insurance agent is. does he have a place of business?with a business license? or is he working out of his house? if out of his house, call building and zoning, make his life MISERABLE..when i got done screwing with him,he would be only too glad to find my car.do not settle for the Monte Carlo, make him get you the same make of car, with the same running gear as the one that he claims was stolen..dont let up,continue to raise hell,,REMEMBER..the squeaky wheel gets the grease..let us know how it comes about. sorry for your loss.....

Well im back at the drawing board im trying to get some ideas and plans on building this shortblock to a complete engine...the block is 95-00...could I use heads off a older chevy 350 engine if so how far back could I go...I also want to run a carb so casting numbers and years for heads that use carbs would be great. Thanks
