Help My Horses.............

Would it be safe to say that replacing a stock Chevy Caprice engine with a rebuilt 69 Chevelle engine was a bad idea. I'm beginning to think so. The block is bigger but I'm not getting the jump off the line that I expected. My systems are running fine just really slow, what performance parts are recommended?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

out of curiousity, did you replace the HEI yet? did you get the fuel system back in order? what parts did you add to your current 350? what transmission are you running? what rear gear? everything must work together, this is what makes performance work, everything must work together as a team. tell me what your running in your engine now, if you didn`t replace the HEI for the older HEI, it explains what the problem is. if you have then we can tell you what you need to make your car have more low end power, but lets start out with the details first, so give them up and we`ll go from there.
