HELP...my tranny is going nuts 67 MUSTANG

I just finished rebuilding my 67 mustang with a 302 in it! WELL, the transmission is acting strange ! When it is in Park, it seems to be in reverse! WHEN Lowered TO reverse it doesn't do anything! and when it goes to 1st or 2nd gear it seems to be slow on the uptake where Odrive seems to also be neutral! WHAT COULD BE GOING ON ? i didnt do anything to the tranny ! It is the 3 speed automatic that came with the 67 mustang!
