Help needed with speedo on a 327 to 350 conversion.

I have a 63 vette that had the 327 replaced with a 350 (I have the 327, but it needs a lot of work ..something I'll get to eventually). Whomever did the conversion didn't do the speedo conversion along with it.

Everything else is stock except the engine/tranny. I need to know how to go about convertion the speedo settings so that the speed matches. The tranny is a GM TH350. Are there conversion kits I can get ... or am I going to be tweaking gears etc?

I have to do an engine rewire soon. Along with this I'm replacing the intake manifold and upgrading my carb. I'll also be replacing my starter in the process. Since I'm doing all this, I figured now is the time to fix this issue too.

Thanks in advance.

You need adifferent gear in the tail of the tranny....What tranny did you remove?

63 Corvette coupe.........................I think i would be keeping that baby as original as possible.

I will be returning it once I get all the parts I need.

I have the orginal 327 and a date correct tranny (powerglide) prob is, when I had it delivered the SOB from the shipping company dropped it and ruined the case. I have a welder friend who told me it's a lost cause. So .... looking for another tranny case now.

Once I have the engine re-sleeved and rebuilt, I will probably do a complete body off ... including paint etc ... but not until then.

In the mean time I can drive the 350 into the ground and not loose any sleep over it .... but I want the best 350 I can get for now.

Oh, just thought ... these rebuilds I mentioned are only for the 350. I have all the original items for the 327 and it will be built with them. This is so I can enjoy my beast ... it's no trailer queen. Will get the re-version once I have everything I need.

Take the driven & drive gears out of the powerglide and put them into the 350 t.h.,it's pretty simple to do with common tools.
