Unhappy Help PLEASE!

I got this beautiful 1974 Buick Lesabre from my granddad with only 50,000 original miles and I want to make it a little faster. Now I know it's a heavy car but there has to somethings I can do to it to make it get up and go a bit faster. Keep in mind that I'm on a bit of a budget. If anyone one could give me just a little advise it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

just keep in mind that anything that gets the air/fuel mixture in faster and the exsaust out faster will help perfornance. i agree with bullheimer those mods will help a lot, its good to see some talk about somthing other than sbc for a change.
