Cheers! Another '59!

If it were me, I would build a litte scoop in one of the inlets above the headlights, to force air through a cone filter. In my '59 Belair, I plan to use both sides to feed a ram air box ontop of an offenhauser 3x2bbl intake. I could make you up a sketch if you like on what I have in mind for yours.

niiiice looking ramjet there. when I did my L-98 I couldn't find a similar item, and I wanted one, so I ended up building one out of fiberglass myself. you'll have a lot more room to work than I had in my Vette, so maybe a Firebird TPI S tube would work for you?
love the 59s also

Spectre has ALL kinds of stuff to do this. This is the set up I have on my truck.

And I am currently putting this on the 509 in my Astro build.

Summit and Jegs both carry Spectre and you will find a lot of stuff on eBay also.

I have an 87 TPI firebird. I made a intake tube from some stainless and a silicone sleeve, putting the cone filter in the factory location. The only changes I noticed was how much louder it was, and how hot the stainless got. I don't think there was any gain in power over the stainless setup with the bone stock motor. They used the same intake tract with the 305 or 350 powered TPI F-birds

The Firebird inlet has a "airbox" that is mostly to quiet things down. If you're crafty, you can copy the design, minus the airbox, or for a test fit, cut the airbox off and cover the hole with a plate and some epoxy. 1986-1992 are the years you're looking for
