Help With Rocker Panel Mouldings '72 Nova

Hey everyone, I purchased a set of rocker panel mouldings and the rear extensions for my '72 Nova. Unfortunate for me it didnt come with instructions on how to put them on. Infact I didnt even get clips for the front mouldings, only the back. But they are small black clips with a hole in them and if anyone knows how to mount them I would appreciate it. I have posted a picture of the clips and mouldings here:

http://24.59.9.171/clips.html

I assume the clips mount so they hold the bottom or top of the moulding in, but my concern is how to get them all installed so they hold properly.

Please let me know.

Thanks
Jim

I can't make out the clips in the pics, if I remember correctly (it has been a long time since I owned a Nova) the clips are held to the rockers with a round headed stud. Profile would look similar to a "T", these were attached at the factory, the clip has a key-hole opening. The clip is slipped over the stud then slid sideways slightly to retain it in place. The moulding is then placed over the top or bottom of the clip, then popped into place over the other side of the clip, I usually used the palm of my hand.
I have seen them come into the shop where I worked, with the clip attached with pop rivets.
Maybe someone makes a spot weldable stud, of course it would have to be done before paint.

"T".... the studs that you are talking about are often installed with a "stud Gun" or the fancy "resistance welders" They are the same as the ones used to hold the clips for early windshield moldings. I too have seen many installed with rivets.

They gave me small screws with a note on the package saying 1/8th" Drill bit. I think I see what you are talking about on how they mount. I will try it in the morning to see how it goes.
