Post help with unilite install on pontiac

Can someone please shed some light on this for me. I have 67 lemans, wanting to install a mallory unilite I have and bought a mallory electronic coil (29216) for it, Coil that I had in car says "only for points ignition". Do I need any other componant other than the distrubutor and the coil for this set up. I can't get any juice out of the coil when I hook it up, finally just took it out put oem distrubutor back in and here I am. I tried hooking up coil w and w/o ballast resistor and still nothing, so far I haven't gotten any spark from coil to even see if the unilite is good. Any advise would be super, I really want to get rid of these points. Thanks for the help....

Mike

Is the Unilite new? They are infamous for packing up,usually because they have been run without a ballast resistor.

Try the original coil for a test only (honestly I'm not sure what difference there is besides output). If you wired it improperly you may have fried the eye. I'm glad to see you have a ballast resistor though because that's usually what kills the pickup eye. You probably checked all your hookups several times butmake sure you have it wired properly.
