Henrob/Cobra torch

My nephew gave me a like new Cobra torch kit. They were originally manufactured under the name Henrob I believe.

Does anyone here have experience with them? I remember when they were all the rage but that is about all I remember. It seems to me they operated on very low pressure.

Yes, I have read elsewhere that they have been sold under different company names. (Henrob / Dillon / Cobra)

There's a short thread on practicalmachinist.com with comments.

CobraTorchesWest has a Contact Info tab if you have any questions. I'm sure he can point you in the direction of some (positive ) testimonials.

He also has an impressive YouTube video demonstration of this tool in action.

I have found several videos as well as the manual on line. I wondered if the people who have them like them or if it is one of those things where the demonstrator can make it work miracles but the average Joe when he gets it home finds out he can not make it work as demonstrated.

I suspect there's a reason you don't see one in every garage. It's not that it didn't/couldn't do a good job, it seemed that it was just too different.

They work well after you learn to use it. There is a different learning curve to using it, alot of practice involved.
