Here another 40 ford column to rack and pinion

Has anyone tried it, using the 40 lock switch and steering by putting support under the upper joint on the cut off 40 shaft and keep the locks. I have a TH400 transmission using the upper shifter and spring to remove the lower shifter. Use the upper shifter to rod to transmission lever.
I almost to change the length longer on the DD shaft and cut off the column 1" below the shifters resided. The column is touching the exhaust manifold. maybe shims to tilt on the dash to clear the exhaust. The support should keep the wobble out of it. I may need a support on the floor for the lower column too.
How can I route a wire to use a horn via a tube outside of the column with a spring and a brush like newer horns.
