Put a MSD crank trigger, msd 6Al box, multi-step retard system(for retarding timing at cranking), and an old style chevy dist. with all the guts taken out and welded up.
The motor fires up and then runs at total advance at all times, thus eliminating any timing fluctuations.
After I put my first crank trigger system on my race car, you could not pay me to run any other type setup (distributor).
Initial cost is not cheap , but elimination of all problems is worth it in the long haul.
Consistency wins races!
