Hesitation slightly over half throttle.

In my camaro which has a 355 engine and a edelbrock 600 carb, when i go just slightly past half throttle, the peddle kinda has a "notch" that i must press a little harder to push the peddle down. When i hold it right at the notch part, the car feels like i has no power, the motor sounds wierd. Would this be a sign of it running rich or lean? Can changing metering rods affect this? My timing is ok.

When i first got my car running good, it never did this. Also i have a HEI supercoil. Maybe just try some new wires and plugs? Also right now, i have a little popping coming from the exhaust (i assume its unburnt fuel, so im gonan change the metering rods tomorrow and see if that helps. But this hesitiation was doing it before when i leaned the carb out. But i just cant think why it never did it when i first had the car running. Im hoping its just wires or something.

That sounds like where the secondaries are starting to open up. Just try and stay away from that throttle position, damn I'm ghetto...lol. Sorry, don't really have an answer, just wanted to point out that's the throttle feeling (I think).

The poping could a small vacuum leak, look for cracked hoses and see if your linkage or cable is being bound up?? Just a thought, maybe something came loose and just needs tightened up, a bracket or something holding the linkage, a cable guide? Something simple for a change!!
