Hey, thanks a lot again Kev, and Jim. I just got defragging. Much, much faster but I still have a pop up thing going. BTW your mailbox is over populated.

What operating system are you using 38 ? , are they regular ad type pop ups or the little grey box microsoft pop ups ?
I'm sure Kevin will have advised you about AdAware and Spybot , for them to be effective you have to check for updates every time you use them . Another good tool to use is Hijack This , you can download it here by clicking the button on the left.

http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

This won't remove anything but will give you a log of any relevant programs and registry entries etc . If you can't get rid of the pop ups run this program and post the log here (instructions for posting your log are on the webpage I posted) and we can try and find out what's causing them.

Good luck,
Stitch

Thanks stitch, but Kev has already helped me. Yeah they were just the normal ad pop ups. I must get the Paris Hilton pop up every 5 minutes while I'm on here. So far I've been on here at least an hour and it been a pleasure. No interruptions. I liiiiike it!

To put it simply..........when you first install any operating system or program all the thousands of tiny pieces that make up that program are in their correct place and right order . Each time you use a program as you close or exit that program all the thousands of tiny pieces get spread around your hard drive a little bit , getting progressively worse each time . When you defragment your Hard Drive a Windows system tool searches out all those pieces that are scattered around and puts them back in the right order , it's one of the things you can do to help keep your PC running smoothly and quickly .
To Defrag your hard drive go to Start then Programs then Accessories then System Tools then Disk Defragmenter , choose the drive you want to defrag (usually C: )and click defragment .
If you've never done it before or have a large Hard Drive it could take a long time so you can start it when you go to bed and let it run through the night . Make sure you exit any other programs you have running in the background including any Anti Virus software .
If you get stuck PM or email me , Good Luck
