Post Hey Centerline!

About the rear leafs on your 53...
Do you see any reason why I couldn't use the springs out of the donor Nova and use the shackles from a caravan?
I'm thinkin the back of that truck cant be that heavy. What do you think.
Any ideas will help.

As long as you are not running a huge axle twistin', tire burning, wheel standing, mill in your rig, go ahead

Thumbs up

I don't see why not. Just don't load the bed up with a thousand pounds of junk and expect it to sit level. Remember you have a choice on how to mount any leaf springs on these trucks. You can mount them directly under the frame rails but if you do they won't be parallel and your ride will suffer a bit. Mounting them truly parallel will take a little extra work but how you do it is up to you. Personally I like the Caravan springs, they mounted to the spring perches on my late 70's Camaro 10 bolt rear perfectly.
