Hey everyone its been awhile since i been on. The project 38 desoto had to take a backseat as projects do. I got a really good deal on a 71 chevy pu on a barter trade. And it is an easier project to do than the 38 atm.
What I got was a 71 chevy pu longbed that came with the wood bed option from the factory. It has had the side markers, tailgate lettering and bed rails shaved smooth, the tank has been moved to the side of the bed, the antenna has been moved to a frenched unit on the passenger side of the cab. It got all new bumpers and lenses, HID conversion, new grille and grille surrounds and when i am done new suspension. The nature of the deal was take the front spindles, rear axles, engine and tranny and put them on/in a 69 short wide. I get what is left from the two trucks. Not a bad deal
So i aquired the truck and was about the start all the swapping and then i got into a crash in my 89 Honda...totaled it. i then pulled my 87 Honda CRX out of the weeds and started on an engine build. The goal for that car is somewhere in the 11s with 30mpg. We will see. I know I know this is the darkside and I have turned but I have to have a DD that doesnt get 9mpg like the truck does now. If anyone is interested you can take a look at my project Honda here.
