Hey guys and gals

Since I'm new to this forum...
Here's some background info.
I am a sculptor, but I also paint and draw.
I have had lots of show but still have to work a day job (for now)
I'm not a mechanic, but I love working on cars.
I really dig 50's style music, cars and other artifacts.

Just this past summer I purchased a 1959 Meteor. It is my first (soon to be custom). I swiped a 302 from a junker mustang and am currently rebuilding it. My plan is to lower the car in the rear with blocks and up front with drop spindles. That is, when I convert it to disc brakes.

Does anyone know if there is another car or truck that I can swap in the spindles and discs from, that would get me a 2" drop?
I would prefer to not have to fool around with the geometry or install a new front clip.

Also any ideas what would be a good transmission to match to a 302? automatic with OD or stnd 5spd?
The car was a 3 in the tree. But will be converted to a shift on the consl.

thanks mig

Great to have you on board. Can you posts some pictures of your art? Also, be sure to read the first three "Read Me" threads in the Introduction forum. Tech questions should go in the tech forums where they are more likely to get answeres.
