Hey Man Lets see a burnout,,,,Hey Dude,,,,

Was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Seems like the last couple weeks taking the coupe out no matter where I go, someone asks Hey Dude, Hey Man lets see a burnout, Hey light'em up man, or last week some guy hanging out some delivery truck giving me some motion to squeel my tires. Most generally I just smile and wave, then it seems like their half pissed off.

Don't get me wrong I like having fun with the coupe or watching some one else have fun with there toy. But, does it come with age that squeeling the tires at evey stop light, a person gives that up after awhile and just want to enjoy their ride. Yes I have had some "fun" at stop lights but I guess, when I feel comfortable and good look around first hopefully a local authority not around. So I guess if I dissappoint a few people by not entertaining them then so be it,,, either way I'm still enjoying my ride....... Everyone have a good day

Seems like it just goes with the territory these days. People see a nice hot rod and they expect some sort of free smoke show to boot. My theory is it's better to leave them in suspense, wondering what that car COULD have done, rather than ever putting anybody in jeopardy by powering up on a crowded street or around bystanders.

Like you, my response is a smile and a wave. Or if they are close enough to hear, I tell them I my engine's stock and won't turn the tires. It always gets a good laugh.

I doubt if they will have their checkbook out helping you pay.

I wouldn't care if they are pissed off or not.

That's why I drive a Chevy. It's more believable that way....

Hey Dinger : From an online dictionary:; " Hot Rod" Definition :Noun :
an automobile rebuilt or modified for high speed and fast acceleration

So I guess people with " Hot Rods" are a victim of their own evil doings, LOL

I'm guilty of it to...when I see a hot rod, I normally keep an eye on it just in case they decide their tires have a little to much rubber and wanna leave some extra on the ground, but I also see how that could get annoying and expensive!
