This "board" does not support street racing in any form.

Touchy subject 40fordtruck_son. You have to agree that aside from the fun, it is illegal and dangerous. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens.

Some of the elder, and respected, members here have personally witnessed when something 'goes wrong'. It's really not worth it. Take it to the track.

i know things go wrong, its fate. but if youre willing to take the risk why is it bad?? the nearest track is like 100miles away. and thats why we build street machines is to keep 'em on the street!

Because it's not just your life you're risking, it's any one else who happens to be around. Could be an innocent kid riding their bike on the side of the road, or anyone.....what you do with YOUR life is your business, but you don't have the right to endanger someone else's life...

Chickie.

if you have a clear freeway, which i don't think theres kids on the freeway, midnight, no other cars, why is it still frowned?? or what about the burnouts? i've threads on burn outs on the streets, sharin' where to get video's, and basicly makin' you want to do one. i'm a two year vet. of the moab cruisin and they have stopped organized cruise's because of burnouts. so why is that not frowned upon?? thats what a hotrod (and rat rods) is for. thats why i build 'em anyway. thats why i watch them. why else would you put power in a street machine???

Your question illustrates you're immaturity. Although you may want to take the risk, by doing so you put everyone else on the road at risk. Most young people, and you are no exception, aren't experienced enough in the lessons of life to realize that their actions and decisions have a direct effect not only on themselves but other people as well.

I moved that post to the dump and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm almost sorry that I didn't just delete it. For the most part the members of this site are mature enough to realize that street racing is dangerous and just a little bit illegal. That's why we do not condone street racing and discussions on the subject are not allowed. If you want to talk about illegal and dangerous behavior, I suggest you go to your favorite forum where I'm sure there's plenty of that type of discussion going on right now.

The reason that this site does not permit discussing street racing, even old war stories, is because they don't want some kid, like yourself, to read about it on HR.com and go out street racing, get yourself or someone else killed and then Jon has to deal with a lawsuit because this site "encouraged" you to do it.

On a side note 40fordtruck_son. You aren't the first to ask this. you aren't the only one to question it either. Don't think for one sweet minute that I (or anyone else) wouldn't do it if we thought it was harmless. We're not trying to put you down by any means, so please don't take any of this personally.

We're just trying to justify why we've found the 'bad' outweighs the 'good' when talking about streetracing. And yea, it sucks that drag strips are far and few between, and that makes the temptation to do stuff on the street that much stronger. But like 4JawChick said, it's not just YOUR life that your decisions affect. (even if you think you've thought of everything that could go wrong)

Murphy's Law = If something CAN happen, it will.
Don't go against statistics. It's not worth it.

But burnouts, I think that's a different story all together.
