HF Purple Gun

Has anyone else had problems with the paint cap fitting on the cup of the HF purple gun? With mine, it appears that the lip of the cap is rolled in, and it won't screw on. I guess I need to find another cup that will fit the gun right. I really don't like the plastic cups with the screw on caps. If someone knows of a metal cup with a push on lid, that would help tremendously.

You can buy a larger aluminum cup with a snap on lid from The TuulShed. I have not had any problem with my plastic cups.

No problem...other than the time I forgot to put the cap on altogether. You can imagine what a mess that was when I tilted the gun over. (I'm gettin' too old for this stuff.)

Harbor sell's an alum cup at the store for this gun. It's the gravity feed HVLP cup by the gun section.Only gravity cup they sell as far as I know.
Couple of things.
Open the box and inspect the inside of the cup. Some are finished a LOT smoother than others,so get the best one. I opened 4 and got the best of the lot.
IF you soak the rubber cap in solvent much,it will shrink and not fit anymore.
I have 2 that the lids don't fit anymore,The purple & Iwata both did this.
I actually switched both my metal cups back to the plastic and use the DeVilbliss bag adapter kit now. The adapters will not fit the metal cups but work great in the plastic one's.It's SOOOO much easier to clean with the bag as all you need is a little thinner for the fluid area inside the gun instead of having to clean the whole cup & gun.
