Hi from Idaho

Hi Rob from Idaho here. I Live in the southeastern part of Idaho and I've been into cars/trucks since I was in my early teens in the seventies. Current projects include a 72 k5 blazer that I'm installing a L31 Vortec engine with TPI injection and Megasquirt. Other Projects include a 40 Chevy truck that is in the process of street rod transformation with a Camaro sub-frame and a Corvette rear. Anyway, Glad to be part of a great site with such a vast wealth of information. Thanks to everyone who contributes.

Rob

Hey guys, doin fine. I'm actually located in Soda Springs, about 70 miles S east of Blackfoot. It's the spot in the road on Hwy 30 when you're headed towards Wyoming. I'm somewhat familiar with Blackfoot, I don't really know anyone there, but we go there for the state fair every year. I do have some friends in Idaho Falls and Pocatello though on either side of Blackfoot.

The machinist who did the L31 for me lives up the road a bit in Rigby. Kinda out of my way for a shop, but he done a couple of engines for some local guys that turned out real well, so I took mine there.

I hope they brought their coats, it's a tad bit cooler here than most of California . Another bit of useless trivia that you may already know is that there is a Soda Springs California.

Hmmm
Never knew that

There is a Las Vegas, New Mexico tho.

Steve and Sue have been there for a few years now (might have left)
Was just starting an auto detail shop just west of town.

I have not been up there for years----maybe 1999

Takes too damn long to drive out of Texas

My last personal trip was to my Father's funeral in Las Vegas (NEVADA) July of '07.

I travel a LOT for work----so I like to stay home when I have the chance.

I've never met them. Of course, I don't know everyone in town but with a population of only 3500 and being a long-time resident, I do know a lot of the people here.

The town has two detail shops, none are west of town. One is a private owned retail shop and the other is owned by a stealership and is not public. Not much going on in the detail business here though..the owner of the retail shop supplements her income with a full time job elsewhere.

Yeah, I have a nephew who lives in Burley, and some friends who live in Twin Falls. That's a nice area, a lot warmer than where I'm at, but you gotta like, or at least not mind, the wind if you're gonna live there!
