Hi my name is Rich and I am a craigslist addict( 350 build)
Ok straight to it here guys. Heres the motor 98 350 vortec. 20 over new cast flat tops. deck just cleaned up nothing real off it.
I was hoping to get some used vortec heads. 64cc But along came some complete edlebrock rpm 70cc heads ,comp cam 1.5 roller rockers. and stud girdle. 202 intake valves 1.60 ex new never run. Paid 1400 canadian. (searching craigslist 10 times a day finally pays off) Before i got the heads i picked up a holley 0-80555c. (vac 650). and a edlebrock preformer So it seems the new heads have changed where i am going with this build was thinking you know just a nice 300hp or so cruiser. Now I lust for more power. But my cr will be lower than it was stock. WHAT WOULD YOU DO. Heres what i am thinking Mill the heads down Sell the spreadbore carb and manifold. And get a edlebrock rpm intake and better for preformance carb. oh and i havent got the cam yet ( another post coming) but will be a hydro roller. I wonder if a cam came up on craigslist... The holley spreadbore is my favorite, second only to the Qjet. Keep it, you'll be very glad you did. You can't recover lost drivability from compression by just going with higher-performance peripherals.

No I relise that. I guess the questions about the carb and intake are just added thoughts.
At 70 cc when i do the calculator for cr, it comes around "8ish". I must be doing it wrong.( I hope). Last edited by candrive55; 06-15-2009 at 11:19 PM. Reason: ....IDIOT....
