hi questions on 1940 chevy

Hi my name is Jon i live in northern Wisconsin i used to work on lawnmowers but now have upgraded to cars
my first project is car that actual runs and drives
it was giving to me by a dear generous friend who found it in a barn after sitting 50 years, he thinks i could rebuild the carburetor and empty the gas tank.
its a 1940 Chevy 2door car w/ the original 216 six and a 3on the column Red color. Now I was wondering how do i rebuild the carburetor or someone direct me to a place were i can learn how and how do you go about draining the gas tank? Thxs so much all!

Welcome....If you have worked on mowers and taken the carbs apart, it is basically the same thing.....Dis assemble it, clean it, put it back together with new parts supplied with the carb kit.

As for draining the tank, siphon out what you can....remove the tank and pour the rest out
