Hi Rodders!

I'm Bobby Allen from Australia, and I'm a great fan of ready and learning from your threads and general information.

I'm getting a little long in the tooth (61 today) and the greaves and strife says I should have got over this Hot Rod stuff by now, but there's always room for one more resto and never too old to learn.

Not sure if my 56 F100 true USA steel I'm attempting to restore is old enough to qualify me as a true member, but that's my future ride to the Old Folks Home.............. Ha Ha Ha !!!

I look forward to being a member at long last, and taking the advice off you guys when I need your assistance.

Cheers
Bobby

Hi RWENUTS, I'm from the Tropic North Queensland a place called Cairns.
Most of your celebs get here to rip off their mocha and swim around the Great Barrier Reef. City and surrounding area only has a population of about 140.000, look it up it very pretty and lots to do.
I was over in the States last year on the typical tourist trip to Vegas, absolutely loved the hospitality and food, and cleaned out the sky rocket on the pokies of course.
I work away from home a lot so I may not answer all threads right away, but here is a pick of the arse end of the efe with my trim mate Chris and my youngest billy lid Matt, and no we aren't going camping I just run out of room to put all the old furniture! ............. Ha Ha Ha!!!
I'll send more pics after get more cabbage to start the resto.
Cheers
Bob

Welcome Bobby Allen from the west coast of Florida.

Bobby I am going to be 66 soon and my wife's favorite saying is the following,

"The boy's grew up and the father never did" She is right because I am having to much fun doing what I am doing.

There is a great deal of knowledge on this site and you can really get a wonderful education just reading all the posts from others who have been there and done that before you.

Best Regards. Jimbo

Hey Bobby!
Pics didn't work. Click on go advanced below the reply box and then go to manage attachments and upload your files.

I know where you're hangin' your hat! Sister imported herself over to Townsville back 20 years ago to work in the hospital there. The heat was a killer for her. Left Alberta when it was 40 below and got to Cairns it was 40 above.
I've been to OZ in 1999-2000. Was in Sydney for the New Year's celebration.
Never got any further up the coast. Went the other way to Melbourne and west to Adelaide.
Here's a pic for ya'. Couple dreamers!!

MartinSR can you remember what movie was on at the drive-in......... or maybe you were too busy looking for the wheel spanner!.......... Ha ha ha!! Good to hear from you Buddy!

Jimbo17 we must be doing something right if we're both still leaning, or are we just dam dumb. My Dad always said "If its got **** or wheels you're gunna have trouble!", well the wife is no trouble but i do have my share of grief finding parts and scraping up the $$$ Cheers Mate!

RWENUTS, you're kidding mate not Dreamin!
I hope the neighbors told you it hasn't got any wheels, looks like you and the better half are havin a quick trip to the moon for sixpence.

On a more serious note, I've been looking up site for 56 part (Grille & lights, windows, handles etc and found what seems to be 2 reliable sources, F100 Central and LMC Trucks. Can anyone advise further contacts for F truck parts please?
Cheers for now and i'll try to ad me mates Fe and mine with the lounge. Bobby

Bobby.
TRy this guy. I've heard good things about him.
Dennis Carpenter Ford Car, F-100 Pickup Truck, 8N, 9N Tractor and Cushman Scooter Restoration Parts

As for the pic the neighbours keep asking when I'll get it running. They don't know what all it takes to build one. I tell them hopefully before I kick the bucket! LOL!!

For more parts just google 56 Ford parts. Lots come up.
Or use Google images.

Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down!!

You'll have to change it Bobby!!
Since you're 'downunder' it'll need to be:
Keep the shiny side down and the greasy side up!!!

That's the way we see it from here!!!
