At my job we're looking for high gloss finish and we've tried a few different types.
Acrylic enamel, modified alkyd enamel, acrylic urethane, urethane enamel.
Imo best gloss came from acrylic urethane. Is there anything else we could try besides going with base/clear automotive finish?
In your case, acrylic urethane would give the highest gloss.
There's lots of industrial enamels out there, but none are
very glossy, at least not as much as automotive paint.
Just curious, what type primer are you using, epoxy?
If the acrylic urethane you are using has a compatible clear that uses the same hardener, you may be able to mix the last coat 50/50 for a glossier finish, if the paint mfr. allows for it.
