I own a 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber. I bought it with so many mods already done to the engine. The car has such a powerful 302 in it. The only problem is that the previos owner was so involved in the engine that he did nothing with the tranny. My question is: What kind of a high performance manual transmission can I bolt up to an older 302? I have been looking for a while and I can't find anything new that will bolt up to an older engine. Help out please!!! Thanx Kenny

You can use anything from a F/4/S TopLoader to a recent T-5. The same MUSTANG Tech Articles you see will apply to your application.
if you get a munual, don't forget to get a 28.8 ounce balanced flywheel if you get a t-5. the newer engines used a 50 ounce balance. Needless to say if you put on the wrong flywheel, itll shake all over the place.
