High torque starter woes

I have a high torque starter (proform) on my 406 (staggered bolt pattern)
starter bolts loosen up after awhile and of course the nasty grinding noise.
Ive locktited the bolts but still they came loose.
anyone know where i can get a set of starter bolts with lock wire holes in them?

Drill the heads for the tie wire in a drill press or mill.

I had issues on my dragster till I went with a good bolt (ARP) I think the cheaper bolts were streching in the thread area and comming loose.

Stage 8 sells locking starter bolts. What color locktite did you use. The blue should hold them.

I used blue
I cant use the stage8 bolts because there isnt anything to lock them against.
bolt heads are on a flat section of the starter block.

I'm putting together a 406 SBC right now and picked up a mini-starter at a swap meet. Brand new, but had no bolts. The standard SBC bolts won't work on the starter I have as the shank is too small & rattles around in there. I don't know the brand (maybe a Pro-Form?), but I suspect that you may have the same issue? I haven't been able to find bolts, yet, so IF I can't, I intend to drill out the holes in the starter and insert\weld steel tubes in each to make them fit snug.
Only as a last resort, tho. I prefer to get larger shank bolts...

Check your bolts to see if they fit snug in the holes.

Ok I found the problem!
damn starter block is cracked 1/2 way through on outside edge of the mount bolt.
block was cast aluminum and just bought another mini starter with a billet starter block.
Ill just have to heliarc the old one for repair and use that as a backup.
