hissing problem

i have a 1981 camaro 350 with a 400 tranny. a hissing noise coming from the engine compartment. it kinda comes and goes over the last few days. my neighbor said it was a lose hose and i was wondering where that would be

Take a plastic bottle,poke a little hole on the cap,fill it with water and begin spraying it slowly around the hoses and other tight places near the throttle untill you notice the engine change rpm.

Go and buy an aerosol carburetor cleaner like Gum Out or similar. Start the engine and spray the carb cleaner at all the vacuum hose connections. If it has a vacuum leak, the engine idle speed will change.
