Kobalt air compressor

Kobalt Air Compressor

Does anyone know anything about Kobalt air compressors? I saw one at Lowes for $547.00. 60 gallon 13.3@90 psi - 15.0 @40 psi cast iron pump, belt drive. I don't know what the duty cycle is. I know its not a 2 stage, but the SCFM is reasonable for what I need. I just want it for running air tools, sanders and a spray gun for shooting primer at home in my garage. Does anyone know of the quality or who makes it? Snap-on?

made by ABAC/American

Some (I don't know if all are) of the Kobalt compressors are made by ABAC/American in Rock Hill SC. They also make the BelAire brand of compressor. The 80 gal one looks like a very good deal. It uses the BelAire T-39 pump, which on a BelAire compressor usually sells for over $1000.00.

13.3 cfm at 90 psi isn't enough for the better sanders out there.
they take 15 cfm

That is a good deal on the 2 stage.

Anyone who has a 2stage will tell you that is the only way to go. I'm tempted to go get one of those myself. I have a 60 gal 6hp that's like 14 SCFM at 90 that does a good job but the DA will run it's butt off as does the blasting cabinet.

If you can afford the 2 stage, you won't regret it. And for that price is a "No Brainer" as the saying goes.

Air compressors are like shop's. You can never have one too big.

I beleive for 430.00 you can pick up a Husky air comp. from Home Depot same specks. I have one and DA runs constantly and never run out of air. I dont know how it would work with spray gun.
But best bet would be 2 stage.
