Holley 1850??
Hi,
I was lookin at a Holley carb tonight. Here were the numbers on it. #1850-5 1950 Are these good carbs? I think this is a 600 cfm carb. Anyway, looks like it is in decent condition. What should I offer him for it if I was to buy it? I currently have a 750 Quadrajet on a 350 with a 487 heads, Performer intake, and mild cam. I like my Quadrajet that I have on now. Just wondering if there was anything to be gained performance wise? Thanks Chevy 21 |

Keep the QuadraJet and learn to tune it, the 1850 Holley can't begin to touch it for mileage OR performance. I'm using an 1850 on my 350 right now because it was on the car when I bought it and will continue to use it because it is working "OK" until I do a cam, intake manifold and exhaust change in a few weeks. After I have the cam broken in I'm switching back to a Q-Jet. If you decide to "throw away" your Q-Jet send it my way, I like 'em.
