[1969 Camaro]

I just put on a holley street avenger 570cfm carburator on my 69 camaro. It has a 307 small block in it. My question regards the electric choke. Is it normal to have to let it run for 3 or 4 minutes and then romp the daylights out of it to get the idle to go down? It idels around 1800 rpm for a couple of minutes before it will settle down after i romp it. If this is normal i hate electric chokes! Thanks

All chokes are sposto do that 69 camaro, brings everything inside that engine to a nice warm and toasty operating condition add to that, getting oil up in them heads quick. helps getting to normal Operating temperature quicker too.

Especially in cold weather, a good working choke is a must.

1100 is fast enough. Set the choke idle screw down.
No, it should take only a slight 1/4 movement of the gas pedal to make the idle back to normal once the choke backs off.

Like everything else, electric chokes are fine when adjusted correctly.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! So it sounds like it is normal for the choke to take a little bit, but i need to back down the choke idle screw a bit?
