Holley 570 cfm electric choke
I just put on a holley street avenger 570cfm carburator on my 69 camaro. It has a 307 small block in it. My question regards the electric choke. Is it normal to have to let it run for 3 or 4 minutes and then romp the daylights out of it to get the idle to go down? It idels around 1800 rpm for a couple of minutes before it will settle down after i romp it. If this is normal i hate electric chokes! Thanks

No, it should take only a slight 1/4 movement of the gas pedal to make the idle back to normal once the choke backs off. Like everything else, electric chokes are fine when adjusted correctly. |

Thanks for the quick replies guys! So it sounds like it is normal for the choke to take a little bit, but i need to back down the choke idle screw a bit?
