Is it normal to have to let it run for 3 or 4 minutes and then romp the daylights out of it to get the idle to go down? It idels around 1800 rpm for a couple of minutes before it will settle down after i romp it. If this is normal i hate electric chokes! Thanks

1100 is fast enough. Set the choke idle screw down.
No, it should take only a slight 1/4 movement of the gas pedal to make the idle back to normal once the choke backs off.
Like everything else, electric chokes are fine when adjusted correctly.
