Holley "Blue" rebuilt as a "Red" pump

I have a Holley Blue pump that works fine. The regulator that came with it doesn't work.

Is it possible to rebuild a Blue pump using a Red pump kit? It would be easier for me to have the pump itself regulate the fuel pressure.

Never fooled w/ Holley pumps but if I did, I would call or FAX the Holley tech dept. with a question like that one.

I used to have a red pump. I hope I didn't throw it out. The motor was burnt up in it, but I'm sure the spring is still good.
