holley carb question

I'm now rebuilding my 600 CFM 4160 ( list # 9834) Holley with kit 37-720. question is, the butterfly flapper things have some rusting, all 4, where can i find new replacements or can i repair the ones in there???? Thanks......

If you can get them out without breaking the screws and they are not rust pitted, you can just remove them and use some very fine grit sand paper or steel wool to clean the rust. Look carefully around the edges. If the rust has ate away any material, they will need replaced.

that is spookie the way u said "IF you can get the screws out"...but where can they be gotten? i didn't find anything on googles...btw what are they exactly called?

X2 on extra fine paper or steel wool'ing them. Holley sells replacements (I believe you need 1-9/16" diameter blades- but check to be sure)- but be sure you grind off the tails of the screws where they're staked to keep them from loosening and falling into the engine (I use a Dremel, carefully).

Here is a set on eBay.

you cant remove the screws with out grinding the staked end off. When you put the new screws back in, make sure you stake them again, they will vibrate loose if you dont.
