pump arm

I assume the pump arm is working? the spring should rest on the arm. That is probably not it, sounds like you know what you are doing.

arm is working and is set with .015 clearance wide open, wonder if the ball under the arm (inside) isnt seating correctly, the kit only had 2 balls in it, 1 was too big and the other was too small so i had to use the old one, the carb is old and might not be seating the ball, hmmm maybe i need to look better this weekend.

There should be a needle under the squirter and a check ball or rubber plunger in the float bowl where the pump reservoir connects.

Well, took the carb off and took it to work, found the needle under the squirter, stuck in place really bad, had to soak in carb cleaner and blow it out with air hose, got it out and cleaned it up and used pipe cleaners to remove gunk, checked the ball in the pump housing, was stuck in the open position so every time i tried to squuirt it was going right back into the bowl, will put back on sat morning and hope it works, 1 other problem i found this morning, plugs 4,5,6 are grey fouled and firing orr the side of the insulator, these plugs are only 2 months old and only have about 50 miles on them. are they fouled because of fuel mixture?? i am not sure if i even have the right plugs, this used to be a fuel injected motor with electronic ign, but previous owner changed to points and carbs, had 3 webers on it when i got it but now has a 450 holley. cant find another electronic distributor for it (datsun 280z)
