With an electric pump, the engine does not have to be running, just turn the key to "on".

Put a rag under each bowl, below the side site screw. Remove the primary site screw slowly. If gas is running out, shut it off and lower the float before continuing.

Loosen the top slotted screw just a tad. Use an open or box wrench to turn the hex nut to adjust the float level. Clockwise on the hex nut will raise the float level. CCW will lower it. You want the fuel level to be right at the bottom of the site plug but not running out. Same for the rear bowl.

On the rear bowl, you may have to bump the secondaires a few times to get the fuel level down some as it most likely doesn't draw any fuel at idle.

Once you are happy, tighten the hex nut while holding the slotted screw in place.

Good deal, thanks for the info but brings up another question. I posted a wek or so ago because I had regulator issues and the carb saw about 16 psi (as high as the gauge reads) so I was told that I should reset the float levels due the the high pressure as it does idle pretty rich. With the engine running she holds right about 5 psi, but if I run the pump with the engine off the pressure starts to go up pretty fast. Should I have the pump running the whole time I am adjusting or do I just need to be fast to keep the pressure below 7 psi? It will go to 10 psi and climbing after about 30 seconds of the pump on with the engine not running.

floats

If you have a dead head style regulator, like the basic holley unit. You should adjust the floats with the engine running.

I personally do all my final float adjustments with the engine running.
