Holley Electric Choke

Hi guys, I am going to be installing an electric choke on my Holley 650 double pumper. I installed one a couple of years ago in a different car and it didn't go great. It never quite worked the way is should. It would open the carb too quick and the car wouldn't be completely warmed up and it would stall. I would like to get some detailed instructions. The Holley instructions aren't that great. If you could also give me any do's and don't I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Dave

k after you get the choke on. with the motor cold .losen the three hex screws .hold the throdal wide open and turn the choke housing to the front of the moter.till the choke butterifly closes.tighten the hex screws back up . starte your moter see if it startes cold if not go alittle bite more. with the adjustment to richen it. i got a book from summit on holleys4150 and 4160it was arond 15 bucks well worth it good luck.hp book-473.i had to do mine a few times to get it good. holley has a tec line to1-270-781-9741.

Bending the choke plate linkage changes how much the choke opens at start up and when the car is fully warmed up. It is kind of tricky adjusting anything because when you adjust one thing it changes something else. Try to get the fast idle right first and then dial in the bi-metallic element.
