First i set the idle mixture using a vaccuum guage to the highest vacuum at 850rpm. 12mm hg. My fuel pressure is set at 5.5psi.
I recently bought this 650 holley double pumper on ebay. I adjusted the floats with the electric fuel pump on and the engine off to where fuel came up to the bottom of the sight plug. I did this on the front and rear barrels.
It ran great for a few minute and then I took it for a spin and the first lauch was great and on the way home it started to run bad. I opened the air cleaner to find the rear barrels being bolused with large drops of fuel at idle. The front barrels were fine. I readjusted with the car off and fuel pump on. It started great and ran ok for about 5 min then the fuel started to seep out the jets again in the back.
Should I set with car running or does this sound like a leaky float? The floats are brass.
