Holley manifold age question?
I picked up a Holley 300-36 dual plane, the Z/28 clone, and I am curious as to how old it might be. I know Holley has shuffled names around for these intakes over the years and that the 300-36 has had at least three but does anyone know what time periods they covered? Mine is a "Street Dominator" and I believe this was followed by the name "Street Dominator II" and "Contender". There was also a 300-1 single plane "Street Dominator" and I think the 300-38 dual plane was also called the "Contender" at one time. I found a number cast on the bottom just below the part no. and catalog number, it is "070998", could this be a casting date? It's not really important, I'm just curious.

intake
This is just a wild guess but, i would say if it has the bore in the front for the oil filler neck it would be late 70's or older.... If it is cast with a boss at that location but no hole late 70's to mid 80's... no boss at all later then the mid 80's.....
