Holley thinks its a Q-Jet

Hi,
I have a 1970 Monte Carlo 402 BBC, Comp Cam, Edelbrock intake manifold and a Holley 4160 carburetor. My problem is if i let the car sit for 3 or 4 days the car will not start. The fuel bowl is empty and i have to grind on the starter for 2 or 3 minutes to get it started. The car runs fine after that with good power. I appears to leak out the bottom of carb and into the intake. This car does not run hot, has a 180 thermostat and never gets over 185 on hot days. I do not think it is fuel perkulation. I have searched the data base and can not fine a holley with this problem. Its about time to get it out for the summer and would like to fix this.

As you know the Q-Jets leak out the bottom by those metal plugs because the gas is above them. The Holleys have the front and back bowls. If you don't have gas marks on the intake from leaky gaskets then I think (always dangerous) that it may be leaking via the idle circuit.

If it's not leaking it's probably evaporating. Simply install an electric fuel pump. Then all you'll have to do is let it run for a few seconds before turning the key.

Holley thinks is a Q-jet

Well i thought of using a electric pump but that does not fix the problem of the gas washing down the cyl walls and the gas getting into the motor oil.
Not sure gas is getting in the oil, if it is it is a small amount. Can not smell any gas on dipstick.
