Holley tuning

Can anyone advise on a good book for setting up/tuning a Holley Street Avenger?
Most books I have seen are mainly for 4150 and 4160 models. Is there much difference in the Street Avenger?
I want to be able to tune it as far as possible using a combination of A/F meter and vacuum gauge until the car is finished and can get it to a rolling road.
Plus, I really want to try and learn exactly how my carb works.

Thanks in advance

Paul

The tuning on most Holley`s is the same. The only one that I recall was different was the emissions version that came on mustangs in the 80`s, which had reverse idle screws.

Thanks DV

In your opinion, would this be any good?

Or, if not, could anyone suggest an alternative?

good book

Good book but does not really tell you have to tune much just rebuild. I don't know one that tells you how to tune much The avenger is the 4160. I had one but the finish in the fuel boles flaked off and holley warrantied it. I hope you did not get one of those. It would be about a year old. If you wont to save time and money send your carb to the carb shop or SMI, they set it to you spec ts.

Tom

Carb shops are a little thin on the ground this side of the pond.
I`m really looking for a book to learn for myself exactly how the carb works and learn how to set it up properly.

Holley has an installation and tuning DVD which I have been through. Really good actually. http://www.holley.com/index.asp

Covers the 4160 which I'm running.

That book may be a little outdated, don't know, but the DVD is current.

Thanks for that.
I didn`t think about looking for a dvd, or even think about looking on Holley`s website.

Thanks again.

I would recommend you look online, as I`m sure somewhere online there are articles about tuning carbs.
