It takes just as much fuel and air to go 60 Mph at 2000 rpm wether its a 4 barrel 2 barrel or 8 barrel the difference is your foot
Leave the 1.7s alone If you had valve train work you may have custom sized push rods and other mods!!! Did you just get this truck

What rear gear in this thing and diameter tires are you running what cam? If you just broke it in how many miles on it since initial cam break in
