Have any of you ever tryed to trace down a title in another state. I am trying to round up the title for my s-10. I gave $150 for it with a title that was still in Florida. Thought I got a good deal untill I started trying to get it. Found out I have to get the truck awarded to me by a Texas Court(Ironic since I have owned it for over a year). Then I have to send the court papers to Florida so they can issue a title in my name.

Any of you ever done this? I am not sure whether or not I have to get a lawyer to handle it or not.

Hey Chris! I don't know if this will help any but a friend of mine has gotten titles certified from some place in Ala.. I'll get the information from him if you want! Just resently, Mo. started allowing a land owner to put a storage lien on a vehicle and receive a title after a state patrol inspection and lots of paperwork!

You always want to walk away with the title in your hand. To many people forget about forwarding titles once they have their cash in hand. We live and learn. You won't beleave how many people will put money in Bikes and cars without having the proper paper showing they own the vehicle. I hope every thing works out for you.

It will work out one way or another. I will buy another truck and do some "plastic surgury" before I stop work. I am pretty determined, and I am pretty sure if anyone can run down the title I can. If not, well, I will work the system however it forces me to do so. I just wish they were not so particular. I guess it is to keep car theifs from getting titles.

I used them awhile back. It took about a month to get the paperwork but it is all legit. If the truck is stolen, has a bank lien on it, or is registered, forget it, they won't even talk to you.

Hey Chris! Ben beat me to the punch. This is the place my friend uses. Good Luck and keep me posted. I may need to go this route someday. There are always lots of project cars listed in my area for sale with no title.So, It would help to know how easy (or hard) it was for you to get a title!
