Holy #$@% thats an expensive hinge!

Check out this "Voodoo" hinge - it's awful neat but they want 9 grand for it!

http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/auto...dinc=lambodoors

Isn't there an old stytle of mechanical hinge thats kind of like this - not "lambo" but just a regular hinge but one that rotates the door away from the car?

All i could find was a high price of $999.00 dollars, not 9 grand. Still to much for me and i dont like doors like that anyway.

I found the price, yep it's 8999.99...

Click on pricing and details , then select "weld on, 90-180 degree operation"

Here is one in action all powered up...

They do have some nice products - I have the EWS power window switches that allow you to use the OEM window cranks to operate them. I wouldn't pay that for those door hinges though!

On that new "forn" stuff I'm almost clueless..

I would guess all that camber is from dropping the rear end, and the little baby ricer upper control arms are way out of their range of travel, and that's when they start pulling the knuckle in at the top...Real common problem with alot of cars with LSA suspensions.

But I'm just guessing...I don't know what is under that bizzarro door flapper tweaker car, I don't even know what kind of car it is..

It's white..

A white car that looks like a sanding block.

Could be anything....That video was made in Dubai..

It sure has alot of money in hinges though......That make it look like an overgrown inbred dough mixer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. More money than sense, though if the company can sell them they are geniuses.

Mikey is totally right on the camber, it is created by an upper control arm that is shorter than the lower. Though in this case they aren't just normal upper and lower, there is probably five or six control links/arms on both sides as is a lot of late model cars.

It is designed so that when you are going around a corner and the suspension is compressed down the top of the wheel leans in so the tire has more bite on the road. It is what happens when you put taller spindles on a Camaro (I think it's called the "Goldstrand modification"). On early American cars the wheel did just the opposite, the top of the wheel leaned out when the body went down around a corner. This created the horrible handleing cars of the fifties where the tire would roll off the rim providing serious understeer where a car blows right thru the corner instead of going around it.

Is it me, or does the door on that white SUV fit like living crap when it is closed in that video?

Brian

Some of that rice-mobile monkey motion I R suspension is designed to give a little bit of turn steer in the rear as well.

I looked at my wifes acura, there are links going all every which-a-way.
