Home made 700r4 transmission tools
 

I was reading an summary written by a guy, Bajaguy, I think was his name about making the tools that are required to rebuild a 700R4 transmission. I am about to undertake such a task and do not have these special tools. Is there any truth to what he has claimed. I can weld, grind, and cut fairly well.

If you don't have the tool you need and can't buy it for whatever reason, make your own tools. I bet every transmission rebuilder in history has a box full of homemade tools. I have never rebuilt a transmission and even I have homemade tools for taking them apart.

Tools can be made if you have the tools to make 'em. :D

Good trans tools cost good money. One can save a buck or two but it's not usually worth the effort and frustration.
