homemade fiberglass hood

Ok guys when I was a little pisser as my grandpa called me I BARLEY remember him a time or two making fiberglass hoods from scratch for I wanna say a Chevy II &maybe a c10 I think it was it had a chop top&dump bed.Ill try to scan&upload a pic asap...anyhow all I really remember is he had saw horses set up &he had the original hood&he sprayed something on it&layed fiberglass&shot idk if it was clear or a glue them he used some kind of roller&thats about all my adhd could handle before I was hoping on a dirt bike or kicking one of my cousins or picking up rocks for nickels Anyhow I just remember the hoods being just like the oem but one of em had some kinda vents in em.Id like to experiment with this&have some fun any ideas? Is there a book I can buy? What materials do I need?Does anyone make kits for this?Anyone done this before>If so any pix? Thanks fellas!
