Yes, it is 8th inch steel, or 12 gauge. Mine are 12x18 inches long and 4 inches tall, with 3 inch pipe to match the rest of the exhaust system. I bought 91 lbs of scrap sheetmetal to build them, so i'm estimating the weight to be around 20-40 lbs depending on the amount of steel left over. They are definently over heavy duty, but on a 4x4 like mine i can stand to have heavier as well as heavier duty to withstand those obstacles off roading. They flow over 5,000 rpms on my 402 stroker so i'm saying they do master flow. They aren't all that heavy to me but i could use the extra weight towards the rear of my truck, plus you can see them from the side which sets off, this is a built up truck, from hand made to store boughten, it has more than you think from the body.
