I need help with my hood insulation. 2 of the 4 pieces have fallen off. I'm going to replace all of them with replaceent black fiberglass? heat shield material for my car. My question is what to use to glue it on and do I need to remove the old glue and fibers that was left behind on the hood metal?

Fast68 is right, clean it off the best you can. If it was contact adhesive, spraying new adhesive will reactivate the old stuff. HHR (high heat resistant)contact adhesive is rated for up to 220 degrees and hopefully the insulation will protect it from heating up higher than that. I don't know what was used originally. If you need an aerosol, THIS stuff works well. Otherwise, DAP and 3-M make spray grade HHR contact adhesives in bulk form, from one gallon on up. Just spray both surfaces, wait for both to dry to the touch and mate the insulation to the hood.
