Hood Lock

I have a 66 mustang and was wondering if anyone had an idea how I can lock the hood closed. I dont want to have to wrap a chain and hang a lock. This is my wifes car so i need something easy in case she ever has to open the hood. I have thought about an internal release like modern cars but not sure which car to get it from that will fit mine. I would love to hear some ideas and pictures of your setups if you have them.
Thank you

You probably could adapt a modern latch with a cable release

I can't believe that the Mustang places wouldn't have one by now. I Know they make a locking gas cap set up where you pull a pin from inside the trunk to unscrew the stock gas cap. I have seen some universal locks that would work.

Thanks, both of those look good. I like the vintage one just for the fact that it was made back then but i wonder how good it is. its hard to tell from the picture. i think i will send a query to the seller and see what he says.

Yeah, it looks a little funky, but I would buy it just to see, I am that way. Listen, it doesn't need to be THAT strong, first off the average person doesn't even know there is a car you can open from the outside being cars haven't been made like that in a few decades. Secondly, once they pull up on the hood and find it doens't open it isn't like they are going to put a pry bare under it. And if that is their plan, sorry, they are going to destroy your car and get under that hood come hell or high water and nothing is going to keep them out.

I have thought about making one for my car (1965 Buick) and it would simply stop the handle from being able to be pulled forward. So instead of trying to keep the hood closed AFTER the latch is released, it makes more sense to me to NOT LET the latch get released to begin with! In my case it looks pretty simple to make that happen.
